Quite possibly the best Pho eatery in Ho Chi Minh.

On our first day in Ho Chi Minh city, we found the Pho Hai Thien Restaurant where we had lunch; it quickly became our go to favourite! Every time we arrived, we fought our way through the mass of mopeds parked in front of the door. Once inside, warm smiles and a homey feeling were our reward along with quite possibly the best Pho in the city!
Tip: Take your own serviettes or wipes everywhere!
The Restaurant: Pho Hai Thien is a relaxed, albeit very busy place. The air-conditioned eatery is very clean and consists of several tables joined together in sections for “community” table sharing. Spaced across the tables for easy reach are sauces, spoons, chopsticks, bowls (for sharing and sauces) and toothpicks. Serviettes are conspicuously missing, but that is because they sell wet wipes.
The Service: Friendly, efficient, attentive
The Food: OMG good. Seriously this stuff is amazing. Whether you bite into one of their signature Pho Cuon, colourful stuffed noodles rolls, slurp away on a traditional pho soup or or indulge in the Mixed Dried Pho, you will not be disappointed!
The Cost: As I mentioned earlier, we ate a meal here almost daily. Prices are very good, especially when you consider the quality of the food being served. Take your own hand wipes to avoid the extra cost. Below is the cost from one of our feasts:
– 1 order of Pho Cuon Tom Thit 17.000 dong
– 2 orders of Mixed dried pho with chicken 60.000 dong x 2
– 2 Saigon Special Beer 25.000 dong
– Iced coffee 32.000 dong
– Wet wipes for our hands 2.000 dong x 2
Total for 2 persons: 223.000 dong / €8.40 / USD$9.80
