The annual Sour Orange Festival in Lakeport (Lake Okeechobee), Florida was celebrated yesterday February 6th, 2016.
The cloudy weather and forecasted rain put a damper on attendance, but did not stop many from coming to the free entrance event. A local rock band set up on the outdoor stage to entertain the festival visitors with music.
Sour orange pies were featured, along with colourful quilts, jewelry, and handcrafts. Of course the food booths were dominant serving many different eats including bbq ribs and chicken, fried alligator, corn dogs, kebab, sausages, cotton candy, and more.
The interesting history of Lakeport was one of the many indoor displays.
