Asia Tour 2017 – Settling into Ship Life

All Aboard the Celebrity Constellation cruise. Eating, drinking, socializing, relaxing! Asia Tour 2017 Begins

Day 2 – Checked onto the Celebrity Constellation cruise ship at Port Mina Zayed in Abu Dhabi. We were welcomed aboard with a glass of champagne and lots of friendly faces milled about. We scooted up to the Oceanview Cafe buffet for a light lunch before checking out all of the amazing facilities on board. I won’t go into great detail as I will dedicate more time in another blog to address the ship itself, so watch for that blog. After attending the mandatory lifeboat drill, we settled into the truly relaxing ship life.

Abu Dhabi is an amazing starting point; we have been here before, so make sure you check out my blog on that destination! Our second day

Maxx – Reflection Cruise Production Show

Maxx (photos here) – One of the fabulous cruise ship production shows we saw while cruising with Celebrity Reflection. This musical spectacular is a modern show with a lesson; a cautionary tale from a near future where “being connected” (think smartphones, iphones, tablets, ipads, smartwatches, etc) controls our lives. My rating: 5 Stars – Great job to everyone involved from conception to curtain call! Disconnect and enjoy the short video with excerpts and stills from the show:

Can Maxx disconnect? Will the main frame allow him to disconnect? Will love conquer all? ?

And where do the dancers get all this energy??? ?

Maxx – Photos, A Cruise Ship Production Show

The cruise ships of nowadays go to great lengths to entertain their guests and Celebrity Cruises is no exception.  With the production show Maxx, Celebrity Reflection has created a Broadway experience – on the seas!  Visit my blog to read about it: Maxx.  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy a few of my pictures.

One Night in Abu Dhabi Must See List

You have only one night in Abu Dhabi (or maybe 2). Here is my list of the top 5 attractions you might not want to miss.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Largest Mosque in the UAE,  the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is an architectural masterpiece constructed predominantly with marble and gold. With a $545 Million dollar price tag, it took almost 10 years to build. The building houses the world’s largest carpet, 3rd largest Chandelier, 82 domes and a library with some publications dating back 2oo years.  Appropriate wear is available for loan with a piece of ID, so no need trying to cover yourself up. There is no entrance fee, and considering how many people pass through the building, it is well organised.

Emirates Palace

The Emirates Palace is a 7 Star beachfront hotel belonging to the world famous Kempinski Group. It measures just under 1 km from wing to wing, boasts 85 hectares of fountains and gardens and is decorated with gold,

Cuba

Going to the resort destination of Cuba is like hopping into a time Capsule, whether you stay in an All Inclusive resort in Varadero Beach, a hotel in Havana, or make various cruise ship stops around the island, you will be intrigued by the charm of the country which stood still in time.
